Qliro has a track record of delivering new products and services at an unmatched speed. We are active in an exciting intersection of the e-commerce, payment, and financial services markets. We target both leading online merchants and millions of Nordic consumers seeking superior digital payments and consumer finance products.

You now have an exciting opportunity to join Qliro’s mission to create WOW-experiences. Our Consumer Universe is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to spearhead the team delivering our consumer loans and savings products.

About Consumer Universe

We are the face of Qliro to any customer using our services and we own the full value chain of our customers’ transactions; from what you see to how it lands in our backend systems. We are responsible for the full post-purchase experience, from allowing our customers to pay for their online credit purchases and invoices and to offering them private loans, savings accounts and partnership products and services.

About the Loans and Savings team

The Loans and Savings team are responsible for Qliro’s own private loan and savings-offering. They build the APIs that connect our core to the front end and maintain the infrastructure and architectural landscape around it. They also work with partnerships related to this domain.

It’s a team that is in an exciting growth phase and you’ll be able to shape the team and set the direction going forward. Some examples of challenges you’ll tackle: leading the journey to cloud for this domain, design solutions for new and existing partnerships, developing more junior team members and establishing good relationships and ways of working with the surrounding teams and stakeholders.

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll have a role that encompasses experience and you should be prepared to share that experience, coach where required and act as a role model to enhance the technical competence of the team. This is a hands-on role, where you will work together with the team to continue building our products and features.

At Qliro we combine the modern architecture and scalability of a startup with the robustness and security requirements that banking demands. We see developers as problem solvers rather than coders.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and own the design of technical solutions within your product to meet the product requirements.
  • Lead and inspire the team to share knowledge, bring ideas and invite comments, feedback and suggestions from all the members of the team.
  • Partner up with the Product Manager to ensure that technical capabilities are well understood and that we continuously maintain and improve our systems to the level we need.
  • Take responsibility for the technical items on the product backlog and ensure that technical debt is being addressed.
  • Drive the technical vision and direction for the product and ensure that everyone is onboard.
  • Align your product architecture with the overall Qliro technical architecture.
  • Take initiative in solving cross team problems and attending workshops including the Architecture Forum.
  • Identify gaps in technical competence of the team and work together with the Engineering Manager to address them and encourage competence growth for the team and its individuals.
  • Take a fair share of development work in the team.

We believe you

  • Are curious, solution-focused and humble.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where you’ll need to be able to shift between a strategic focus and hands-on delivery.
  • Are a self-starter and take own initiative.
  • Have great stakeholder management skills and are used to driving the tech-agenda in your product team.
  • Enjoy working in small teams and see the power in team rather than I.
  • Enjoy coaching more junior resources and want to grow as a leader.
  • Have previous experience of being in a formal leading role.
  • Preferably you have a valid work permit within the European Union and are able to join with a maximum 3 months lead-time.

Some of the technologies and practices we work with

  • .Net, .Net Core, C#
  • Mssql, entity framework
  • REST APIs
  • Gitlab CI/CD
  • Docker Swarm, RabbitMQ, Akamai, AWS
  • TDD/ quality ownership in unit-, integration- and end-to-end testing
